From the first phone call to the closing, our home buying experience was phenomenal! We connected via MexHome’s site as we searched the area around Puerto Vallarta, hoping we’d find our retirement home. Gabriel called and we had a very informative conversation about pros and cons of certain cities, the process of buying as a foreigner, how to attain residency, and more. We booked a flight and made an appointment for showings.

Gabriel, along with his then-new assistant, Heather, picked us up from our AirBnB armed with a variety of very good prospects based on our earlier conversations in Bucerias and La Cruz. As we drove around, they pointed out great places to eat, oriented us toward the beach, and chatted about life in Mexico. At each property, Gabriel was knowledgeable about the attributes of each home and neighborhood. He was very clear about fees and processes and how they compared to US home buying. We never felt rushed. After the viewings were treated to lunch and a nice “debriefing” conversation. By this time we felt like we had made our first friends in Nayarit! In fact, we went for dinner another evening.

We fell in love with one of the homes we saw that day and asked for a second viewing, then put in an offer before the flight back home. During those long weeks of escrow, Gabriel and Heather were ever-present. We had group chats and group emails with everyone needed to complete the purchase. They were both quick to respond to all questions. Many times, the answer was “we can help with that when you’re back down here” and we never doubted that they would. Gabriel even connected us with an amazing builder for a renovation project we wanted.

The day finally came to sign and get keys and the experience of buying in Mexico just got better. Gabriel picked us up from the airport and took us to our new home for the walk through. We had time to kill before the signing, and we were treated to a couples massage and lunch. The closing appointment was actually fun! The sellers were there with their agent. We had Gabriel and Heather and the notary officials. We laughed and chatted and Gabriel had champagne for everyone to celebrate our new home.

We highly recommend Gabriel and Heather. They are engaging, caring, honest, knowledgeable folks. We had no unwelcome surprises, would work with them again, and are thrilled to now call them neighbors and friends.

Coming to PV the last 20 years we decided in 2023 we needed a permanent address here. How fortunate we were to meet Kasia on our proprty search.
